    Through the generosity of others

Today at Asian Youth Services I once again witnessed the generosity of a group that donates lunches to the kids at AYS. Each Sunday (the only day the center is closed) this group will stop by to donate lunches for the kids. I take turns with the director so that somebody is at the center to accept the lunches. The best part is to see how much food in donated and to see how some of the lunch bags have been decorated by the young children of that group. The kids at the center love that because they can use the stickers again for their own projects. Mondays have become their favorite day because they know they will get a good lunch. For me, it’s good knowing the kids get a healthy and well balance lunch. I am both impressed and deeply thankful at this donation for the kids at AYS. The thing I have learned in the year I have been volunteering my time, is that there are many wonderful people and groups who believe that donations, be it time, money or items that are needed, is the right thing to do. Even with the littlest of effort, we can all make a difference in the life of a child.

    Attitude is Everything

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the way other people act. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. You are in charge of your attitude.
